Soto Ayam is a fresh and fragrant chicken soup, simmered with turmeric and spices for a light but flavorful broth. Serve it with rice noodles, crunchy vegetables, and a squeeze of lime for a balanced taste. Boembloc makes it simple to get that rich broth flavor at home.
1 Boembloc Koenir
500-800 g chicken
750 ml water
Cooked rice noodles (cook based on the packaging)
Thinly sliced cabbage
Bean sprouts
Tomato
Lime
Optional:
Boiled eggs
Spring onions
Crispy shallots

1. Place the chicken, Boembloc, and water in a pan. Set it over medium-high heat, cover, and cook for 10 minutes
2. Take off the lid, stir to mix the flavors, and lower the heat to a gentle simmer.
3. Put the lid back on and cook until the chicken is tender and full of flavor, about 25 to 30 minutes. Turn the chicken over halfway through.
4. Turn off the heat. Optionally, remove the chicken and shred it, or serve the pieces whole.
5. To serve, add the cooked rice noodles, shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, and diced tomatoes to a bowl. Top with chicken, pour over the hot broth, and finish with spring onions, crispy shallots, and a squeeze of lime. Serve warm and enjoy.
Serve the soup hot. You can add fried onions, sliced spring onions, or your favorite sambal on top.
